What age are your instruments for?

From as soon as a little one can grasp until… well, I still love using them! Toddlers and preschoolers particularly find the instruments fun, and as they are made of wood their sound is MUCH less obnoxious than their plastic equivalents (and more environmentally friendly too!)

Obviously little ones (particularly under 3 years) should not use these without supervision to avoid the risk of choking should they get too adventurous and try and eat them. But with adequate adult supervision little ones love to develop their fine motor skills by exploring the shapes and textures, as well as learning how to get them to make noise!

How durable are your instruments?

I use these same instruments in my music classes (which means they are frequently used by little ones from the time they can grasp to about 6 years of age, plus supervising adults too). I haven’t had one break yet!

The painted finish is quite durable as it is a water-based enamel, however, it is obviously not invincible! Monitor your little one’s use to make sure they are not being unduly rough with the painted surface – and if the paint does get chewed rest assured that it is non-toxic!

How much does your shipping cost?

Shipping is included in the cost of the instruments, no extra shipping will be charged on top of the prices you see anywhere within Australia.

The parcels are not registered post but you will receive tracking information. If you would like the parcel to be signed for on delivery please let me know.

Shipping to New Zealand or China starts at $15.

Shipping elsewhere (including the UK, Europe and the USA) starts at $20.

How should I look after the wood?

Wooden objects can dry out over time, which may make them more prone to cracking. If the product (especially those made from local timber) looks like it is drying out you can oil it, preferably with linseed or walnut oil.

If they are dirty a wipe down with a warm soapy cloth is appropriate, then allow it to completely dry!

Where do you get your products from?

The instruments have been imported from China (unfortunately no Australian wholesale manufacturers exist). They come from an ethically certified factory which uses only certified FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) wood. I then paint and finish them myself to ensure they are as safe and non-toxic as possible.

Do you wholesale your products?

Yes, I do! Register your business on the wholesale page, otherwise please email bec@littlebeatsstudio.com.au
